I had always wanted to be have contact with animals. I had cats at home of course. But I always wanted to have an intimate relationship with big cats, particularly the tiger. It is that longing that set me on the path to save the South China Tigers.
I am not alone. I guess it is only human.. Our ancestors worshiped the tiger, the lion, resulting in arts and religious symbols.
I remember vividly the first time I was in close contact with a tiger -I was in heaven. I felt I wanted to help them with all I have -they are so magnificent yet so vulnerable. I believed that if my fellow country men had such opportunities as I did, they would want to help tigers and wildlife as I do. It has changed my life and it can change the life of others in whatever small ways too.
I have been to a number of facilities around the world where you can have such experience, but none as unique as that of T.I. G.E.R.S founded by Doc Antle. http://www.tigerfriends.com
The animals are not only well treated, enriched but also given opportunities to showcase their prowess, thus providing the tour participants with the opportunity to understand what they could be doing and how they could be hunting in the wild. Quite a percentage of their profits goes to fund grassroots conservation projects that badly need funding: http://www.rarespeciesfund.org/
I hope one day such an opportunity can be brought to China so my fellow countrymen can have similar opportunities as others in the US and can be motivated to help their wild brothers and sisters.

It was a real pleasure to meet you Li at the FCF Convention. I am so glad that you were able to attend in Orlando and meet FCF members and share in our incredible feline relationships. You are right - close contact leads to deep appreciation of, and concern for, natures creatures. Keep up the good work with your tiger project. I am so proud of you.
